Toronto Common will be celebrating our 5 year anniversary with an 8-course Chinese Banquet style dinner at Lai Wah Heen, a world renowned, fine dining Chinese restaurant right in the heart of downtown Toronto.
Offering a selection of elegant and elevated dim sum and Chinese dishes reminiscent of fine dinning in China and Hong Kong, our anniversary event will offer guests a dinning experience usually reserved for special occasions including specialties like Peking Duck and Lobster in Garlic Sauce as well as a taste of their famous Dim Sum.
Our 8-course menu will feature their Innovative Premium Prix Fixe Dinner plus our traditional Orange & Black sesame dessert.
Pan-seared Foie Gras in Dark Vinegar Sauce on Crispy Fried Rice Cracker
Lai Wah Heen Premium Dim Sum Platter Trio
Peking Duck Carved at the Table with Finely Shredded Scallions, Cucumber, and Steamed Rice Crepes
Wok-Fried Minced Duck on Fresh Lettuce Leaf
Wok-Baked Butterfly Cut Half Lobster in Garlic Sauce
Deep-Fried Lamb Rack with Truffle & Assorted Mushrooms
Special Orange & Black Sesame Dessert
Listed in both Toronto's Best Chinese Restaurants and Toronto's Top 100 Restaurants 2018 in Toronto Life, Lai Wah Heen steps away from the common misconception in North America that Chinese food is fast, cheap, and a little unkept, and offers a dinning experience more aligned with fine dinning in Asia with an appreciation for quality ingredients, creativity, and elegance.
Lai Wah Heen, which stands for “luxurious meeting place”, has received accolades from The New York Times – “the best dim sum in Toronto, maybe the best in North America”, Gourmet Magazine "a sense of Hong Kong's new culinary design" and Canada's enRoute Magazine – “edible masterpieces rarely savoured outside of Hong Kong”.
