Northern Italian Pasta Tasting


Toronto Common is excited to be back at the Peasant Table for a special Northern Italian Pasta Tasting series!

We've learned from our popular ramen tasting events that sometimes we just want to try all the carbs on the menu, so why should it be any different with pasta?

And our friends at The Peasant Table have 4 signature pasta dishes, each inspired by executive chef and owner Boris' childhood in northern Italy. The Peasant Table wants to bring a bit of the old world, rustic, Italian comfort food to Toronto with a bit of refinement from Boris' over 30 years in the food industry.

Our event will feature 4 starters in tasting portions as one course, and 4 pasta courses plus dessert for $35 tax and tip included with optional wine pairing of Prosecco with starters and Cabernet Sauvignon with the pasta courses for $45 tax and tip included.


Beef Carpaccio - black truffle crema, rocket, parmesan

Fritti - black ink cod fritters, smoked paprika aioli

Polenta Fries - polenta fries tossed in parmesan and herbs, roasted red pepper salsa

Polipo - octopus carpaccio, dill veloute, pickled vegetables


Orecchiette - basil pesto, asparagus, semi-dried tomatoes, fresh ricotta

Nero di Sepia - grilled calamari & shrimp, roasted tomatoes, chilli, parsley, aglio e olio, black ink fettuccine

Crab Carbonara - crab meat, pancetta, peppercorn, lemon cream, quail egg, linguini

Animale - three meat ragu (lamb, pork, veal), porcini, tomato, pappardelle

The Peasant Table wants to bring old world dining to the new world with a casual dining experience that focuses on simple preparations, tasting quality ingredients, and enjoy the simple life.

With a private event space upstairs, and over 30 years experience in the industry, the Peasant Table is everything from a place to enjoy a pint and hearty meal to a intimate family-style celebration.
